Reminiscence of wild alpine hut romanticism and noble country life - The “Hunter’s Wedding” in Bad Gastein
A lively mountain waterfall, snorting of horses pulling the wedding coach, the echo of alpine horns – couples wishing to celebrate their wedding as a totally harmonious party in a country style find the ideal conditions to put their personal ideas into life with the “Hunter’s Wedding”.
An old timer or a horse-drawn carriage, marriage in one of the beautiful churches in the town or in a pilgrimage church, champagne reception with a plenty of flair on the panoramic terrace of the Bellevue Hotel at the centre of Bad Gastein, or the party in a country ambience of the “Jägerhäusl Inn”: Just make your choice.
Your wedding can look completely like this:
The bridal couple is picked up by a horse-drawn carriage decorated with flowers from the hotel and driven through the impressive town to the church. After the marriage ceremony, the horses bring the fresh wife and husband to the roaring Gastein waterfall. Everything is prepared here for the dreamlike wedding photos! Then they head back to the Bellevue to have a champagne reception on the festively decorated terrace with a fantastic view over Bad Gastein. Afterwards, they just need a few steps to reach the “Jägerhäusl Inn”, a fine restaurant with stylish rooms, where the party takes place in a noble country ambience.
The “Jägerhäusl Inn” used to be the meeting place of Archduke Johann with his hunters. Have atmospheric music played on guitar, dulcimer and zither - the Tanzlmusi takes care for a fitting background of your great day.
Your personal guide will accompany you during a prolonged historical walk through Bad Gastein, so rich in history. The tour leads from the Bellevue through the town centre, along the waterfall, the landmark of Bad Gastein. It runs on over the many steps downhill to visit the thermal springs. 5 million litres of hot thermal water at nearly 50 centigrades come out daily from 18 springs! Apart from that, you will learn a lot about the famous past of Bad Gastein – about emperors and kings, prominent guests from over the world, legends, gossip... and naturally the interesting information about the healing caves with their remarkable properties...
With your bike, you easily climb uphill to a simple Alpine chalet in untouched nature. Approximately 3 kilometres of cycling routes lead along the Gastein Ache stream, the former mining location. From there on, past the “Our Lady of Good Counsel” pilgrimage church, the route follows the stream to an alpine alm surrounded by untouched nature. You will be welcome by home made Bauernkrapfen cakes and coffee – and then the undisturbed tranquillity and a marvellous view will be your reward for your biking efforts in the mountains!
An appealing funicular traverse up to the Stubnerkogel peak with an offer of champagne or seltzer, and then, at 2246 metres of altitude, a champagne reception is ready
