The exclusive Erzherzog-Johann Suite is simply the loveliest accommodation in the entire Stubnerkogel skiing region. The price of accommodation includes a cosy Alpine breakfast and the use of the real wood sauna and the refreshing biotope (in summer), plus all the facilities included at the MONDI Hotel Bellevue Gastein. Guests can also enjoy the excellent service provided by the friendly hosts.
3. What spa facilities are available at the MONDI Almen Gastein?
The MONDI Almen Gastein is right in the heart of the Stubnerkogel skiing and hiking region and offers a real wood sauna and a refreshing biotope in summer. Guests can also enjoy the spa complex at the hotel in the valley, including more saunas, a large indoor pool, children’s pool and a relaxation room.
4. What food and beverage options are available at the MONDI Almen Gastein?
The MONDI Bellevue Alm Gastein provides a wonderful Alpine breakfast and traditional Austrian treats, including Kaiserschmarrn (similar to pancakes), Kasnocken (dumplings cooked with cheese and onions) and schnitzels and, of course, fondue specialities. The rustic Alm restaurant serves fresh, lovingly prepared regional cuisine, all with wonderful views of the mountains. The real highlights include the barbecue nights, these are true Alm parties with live music and seasonal specialities such as pit barbecued pork, unforgettable events with great food and music. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are also available. By prior arrangement, we can serve virtually anything, including luxury requests such as caviar or similar. The restaurant has a warm, cosy feel with an open fire and a terrace with wonderful views of the skiing and hiking region.
5. Can you get to the MONDI Almen Gastein by car all year around?
If there is no snow on the ground, there is a good forest track to take you to the Almen. We offer luggage transport in the winter, when guests can also use our retro individual chairlift connecting the Bellevue Alm directly to the valley. It can also be booked as an extra in the summer for events.
6. What events can guests expect at the MONDI Bellevue Alm Gastein?
The real highlights include the barbecue and fondue nights, these are true Alm parties with live music and seasonal specialities such as pit barbecued pork, the food and the music turn them into unforgettable events. On New Year’s Eve, there is a festive menu, followed by a party, plus electro music events hosted by DJs from all over Europe at other times. The space is also perfect for weddings and other private functions.
7. Are dogs allowed at the MONDI Bellevue Alm Gastein and the MONDI Schiefe Alm Gastein?
Yes. Dogs are not just allowed at the MONDI Almen Gastein, they are warmly welcomed, although we do charge a small fee of €12 per day. Our hotel dog TONI always enjoys well-behaved company.
8. Is the Almen mountain resort suitable for self-catering?
The Alm studios and apartments and the Erzherzog-Johann Suite have kitchenettes where guests can prepare simple dishes themselves. But it is so cosy in the neighbouring MONDI Bellevue Alm that you would not want to miss out on the generous breakfast of regional produce and Austrian treats.
9. Which traditional specialities are served at the Alm mountain resort?
What we offer varies by season and the regional ingredients available. Kaiserschmarrn (a bit like pancakes), Wiener Schnitzel, Kasnocken (dumplings with cheese and onions) and Strudel are always on the menu. The fondue options and the log hut evening are sociable occasions that are popular with families and groups. Our host Nick serves home-smoked specialities including bacon, sausages and trout.
